Christian Aid Family Service
Today our Family Service has a Christian Aid theme and will be led by Kate Brown. During it we will be thinking of the problems caused to many poor countries by the level of debt they have to cope with. More literature on this can be found at the back of Church - please help yourself.
This Sunday's Special Evening Service is based around the Church poems of John Betjeman. His poems are both amusing and poignant and talk of the buildings, churchyards, bells, sacraments, priests and people of the Church of England. It should be a most enjoyable service. Do come if you can.
We have all been saddened by Tony's sudden death last Sunday and send our sympathy and best wishes to Dorothy and the rest of the family at this difficult time. We will all miss him greatly. Tony's funeral takes place in Church on Monday afternoon at 2.30pm and will be followed by a burial in Market Deeping Cemetery.
Would members please collect their Minutes and Agendas from the back of Church in readiness for Tuesday's meeting.
Do come and support the At Home on June 8th at 53 Clover Road towards the Church choir funds and in memory of Jolyon Pearson. Next Saturday we have another of our regular Church Coffee Mornings starting at 10.30am in the Green School. Do come along and support it. Gifts of cakes, raffle prizes, bric-a-brac etc. are always appreciated.
During June you are invited to comment on the form of service we have been using at 11am. The response sheet contains notes to help you. Please return to the box provided by 27th June at the latest.
This year Tony and Gerry Smith will be co-ordinating our Garden Fete arrangements. The Fete takes place on July 10th. Gifts for Tombola, help with collecting from shops and firms and offers of help on the day are all greatly appreciated. If you can help in any way, please sign the list at the back of Church or get in touch with Tony and Gerry on 343371.
